Eld’s 22 @ Gurney Paragon, Gurney Drive, Penang!
Eld’s 22 is the latest new old restaurant in Gurney Paragon, Penang. You might wonder why KayaButter say that Eld’s 22 is a new old restaurant. Previously, this restaurant is called as Jarvie’s and the restaurant changed owner and the new owner decides to retain the same old restaurant but renamed it over his son’s name with Eld’s 22. Of course, the name is short-formed. πΒ Fret not as the famous ramen burger introduced by Jarvie’s is still in the menu.

Special thanks to Eld’s 22 for hosting us that day!
The interior of Eld’s 22 does not change much compared to the previous restaurant. A little bit of Spanish style deception and feel. π
Eld’s 22 mainly serve Italian mix with Spanish cuisines and some fusion food.

Before we start our food review, we ordered our own favourite drinks together with other bloggers. π The drinks are pretty decent and standard with nothing much to shout about. Just order the drink that you prefer. π
Fresh Mushroom Soup
The soup is pretty decent. We love the bowl though. Very artistic and presentable. π
Soup of the Day: Creamy Watercress
This is one the of the highlight of the day. A definitely must try if you love creamy stuffs and strong vegetable taste. The soup is creamy as what the name says yet is is very light and refreshing. We love the strong vegetable smell yet not too offensive until you don’t like. It makes us feel that we have taken a very healthy soup. π Recommended! We have asked the management to include this soup in their menu so that we don’t have to wait until soup of the day only we can enjoy such amazing soup!
Seafood Bruschetta
An Italian antipasto (means before the meal) dish that is usually served 1st in a formal Italian meal as an appetiser and sometimes also served as snack. The Seafood BruschettaΒ is good and we love the bite-size seafood with bread. It is also a good snack or finger food.
Mixed Meat Cannelloni
Although this is a typical Italian dish, this is the first time KayaButter tasted a cannellone (the singular term for this dish). The cannelloni are soft yet springy. We definitely loved the cheesy flavour of this dish. This is like the rolled up version of lasagna but the cylindrical pasta is firmer. The mixture of the different meats, the pasta and cheese definitely is a great tasting experience. π
Beef Skewer with Creamy Cheese Sauce
We ordered half-raw beef and it is really tasty and not chewy at all. Other bloggers also love the beef. Not too much blood until it will turn off many of us who do not enjoy raw meat. π The presentation of this dish is definitely eye-catcher.The actual highlight of this dish is its butter rice!!! KayaButter love it to the MAX and we finished almost all of the rice! π We can’t get the name of the rice that is being used but the chewing experience is definitely damn good. With the addition of the raisin is definitely a BIG plus especially to Kaya. These two definitely goes very well hand in hand. Highlight of the day – The rice! π
Ramen Chicken Burger with Teriyaki Sauce
Finally, KayaButter get to try the famous ramen burger! You can choose the type of meat you prefer and also the sauce. We chose chicken & teriyaki sauce. Although it might sound weird to have ramen instead of bun to hold the fillings and gross to look at, it turn out to be a very special and great eating experience. It is just like chewing ramen together with the chicken although the ramen might be firmer in texture compared to the normal ramen as they need to be harden a bit to form the shape of a bun. We use fork and knife to eat this as we don’t wish to dirty our hands. All of you definitely must try this dish as an experience. Oh ya, we forget to mention that the fries are DAMN GOOD too. π Crispy and hard outside yet very soft inside. Great combo with the ramen burger! RECOMMENDED!
All in all, this is definitely a restaurant we will frequent more in the future especially during lunch time! π Oh ya, it is located just next to JustFood food court and opposite Bentley’s Music shop. There is no service charge or government tax for every order until further notice. Grab this opportunity to enjoy their awesome food. π
