Penangnites are blessed to have another big name in the international F&B industry coming to open their 1st overseas branch in Southeast Asia. Using a simple name, Tasty Congee & Noodle Wantun Shop or more commonly known as 正斗 among its patrons, many shoppers will mistake it as another simple and normal-looking Chinese restaurant. It is actually a recipient of Michelin one star and also Bib Gourmand (this award is for restaurants that offer exceptional good food at reasonable prices) for 7 freaking consecutive years, 2009 – 2015, to be exact. That’s awesome, we would say! 😛 So, how does this one-star Michelin restaurant fares? Let’s check it out! 🙂

It looks like the cafe craze is far from over for Penangnites. Another themed cafe sprung out in Nagore Square that focuses on something that is very very important in our lives, MONEY! 🙂 The bosses came up with the Money Houz idea as money is something everyone can relate to. The bosses even believe that if you are having some problem with your $$$, you are encouraged to come over to Money Houz to absorb the ‘qi’ which means hidden power from its cafe to enhance your money power! 😛

KayaButter always thought that the Taiwanese’s Kochabi that we always frequent at Burmah Road is also available in Penang Times Square. It was until a new management took over the restaurant and retain almost all the same features and menu. It is now called as Kochabi Double Content. It creates new alternative for those who are in love of Taiwanese cuisines other than the Taiwanese Kochabi Delight. We love what the new management have created for their Taiwanese menu with its own twists and characters. 🙂

Rejoice, Bayan Baru and nearby residents! There is a new and high quality cafe opening at Elit Avenue, Bayan City, a four-storey commercial park similar to e-Gate. As many cafes are mushrooming in Georgetown area, it is refreshing to have a cafe opening outside of Georgetown area. It is called St. Presso Coffee and run by a very committed and dedicated boss.

It’s that time again. December is Kaya’s favourite month as Kaya’s birthday falls in this month and Kaya’s favourite celebration also falls in this month which is Christmas! KayaButter were invited by Eastin Hotel Penang to review their Christmas Eve Buffet Dinner. Kaya went alone as Butter is not feeling well and couldm’t join the review. As you are entering Swez Brassiere, you will definitely notice their Christmas decoration which will definitely sparks your Christmas mood! *Kaya thinks that he saw a figure that is quite familiar with the character in Candy Crush Sage, *wink wink** Hahaha 🙂

Christmas is 4 more days to go and the festive mood is getting better and better each day. KayaButter feels that this 2014’s Christmas festive is better than previous years. Maybe there are many Christmas-related reviews or many of the shopping malls put extra effort to decorate their malls. If you are looking to bring your family members and loved ones to celebrate Christmas with lots of Christmas goodies and especially the 100% Christmas mood activator as some bloggers feel so which is the TURKEY! The turkey served by G Café, G Hotel is sooooo GOOOODDD!!! 🙂 Our favourite hotel, G Hotel’s Christmas buffet does not disappoint this year with so many lip-smacking dishes especially the very delicious desserts! We gotta start the sharing of its buffet dinner with desserts! 🙂

Rejoice, Nutella lovers! There’s a rather new cafe in Georgetown area that serves a lot of Nutella-based dishes! Founded by cousins Matthew and Kian Tat, Love & Latte cafe serves coffee, Nutella, brunch such as toasts, pancakes, croissants and set meals at Love Lane, the infamous lovey-dovey lane in Penang, whereby the riches used to keep their mistresses there and flesh trades in the olden days! Now, many cafes, boutique hotels and hostels are sprouting at Love Lane and everywhere in Penang ever since Georgetown, Penang was awarded UNESCO Heritage Site.

Eld’s 22 @ Gurney Paragon, Gurney Drive, Penang!

Eld’s 22 is the latest new old restaurant in Gurney Paragon, Penang. You might wonder why KayaButter say that Eld’s 22 is a new old restaurant. Previously, this restaurant is called as Jarvie’s and the restaurant changed owner and the new owner decides to retain the same old restaurant but renamed it over his son’s name with Eld’s 22. Of course, the name is short-formed. 🙂 Fret not as the famous ramen burger introduced by Jarvie’s is still in the menu.
