With successful restaurants such as Kampachi & The View on its belt, Equatorial Hotel is looking to re-energise and take the F&B scene a notch higher with the introduction of their latest RM6 million refurbished restaurant called Nada Lama, a Malay phrase which translates to ‘Yesterday’s Melody’. Nada Lama sits at the exact same location of their previous restaurant, Coffee Garden.

Starting with their humble flagship outlet in Bukit Mertajam, Penang, Shunka Group has managed to expand their franchise to 8 outlets in Malaysia, namely 3 restaurant outlets in Penang (Bukit Mertajam, Butterworth and Burmah Road), 3 restaurant outlets in Perak (Parit Buntar, Kampar, Taiping), 1 restaurant outlet in Kedah which is at Aman Jaya, Sungai Petani and finally 1 restaurant outlet in Kuala Lumpur which is located at the high-end shopping mall, Publika. This is a very famous economy rice in Air Itam. It is also very popular among the Chung Ling students. They also do home catering.

The place is very packed during lunch hours. It will be quite hard to find parking spaces also. Many of them do illegal parking in front of the shop. There are some legal parking lots behind the shop. You need to drive further around 500m and make a U turn and drive into the morning market area.

The first impression that we have for Makan Kitchen is that it is a very grand and spacious restaurant.

Coming back with a bang after being closed for a month for renovation, Hameediyah is set to redefine and raise the bar of Indian Muslim food and the ambience. On the outside, Hameediyah Restaurant still maintains its rustic and heritage feel but make no mistake, the whole restaurant is now brighter, cleaner, neater and smarter now! The floors, the walls, the toilets and the kitchens are way cleaner than last time.

KayaButter goes town area or what the locals used to call Georgetown, Tanjung to buy a new dog food for our Pomeranian, Cupid. The pet supplies shop is located at the corner of Jalan Talipon called Puppy Love Saloon. Too bad that it is closed at the time we reached there, near 8pm. Since we are in town area, we decide to go to Old Green House coffee shop for our favourite bah kut teh aka pork rib soup and chicken porridge.
