Coming back with a bang after being closed for a month for renovation, Hameediyah is set to redefine and raise the bar of Indian Muslim food and the ambience. On the outside, Hameediyah Restaurant still maintains its rustic and heritage feel but make no mistake, the whole restaurant is now brighter, cleaner, neater and smarter now! The floors, the walls, the toilets and the kitchens are way cleaner than last time.
When you think of dim sum whenever you are going to Kuala Lumpur or down south, the first that crosses your mind will be Foh San Dim Sum. Same thing happens when you tell your friends that you are going down to Kuala Lumpur or down south, I bet that many will tell you to stop by Foh Sam for breakfast. That’s how famous this dim sum restaurant is.
Sakana Sushi Bar and Cuisine is already 2 years old. Due to some reasons, their business was not as expected. On April 2014, they start to have a major restructure for the restaurant....
Harvest Times is another branch of Harvest In that has to be opened to accommodate their ever expanding customer base. Harvest Times is just a stone throw away from Harvest In. You will find a lot of similarity between Harvest Times and Harvest In. And this time the parking space in front of their restaurant is bigger and can accommodate more cars. There is more space for al-fresco dining at Harvest Times.
Goku Raku Ramen has been renamed to Edo Ramen with the introduction of their new menu effective on 7th April 2014. Edo Ramen is still under the same management team of Goku Raku Ramen and their menu has been simplified. Instead of a lot of different kind of foods and choices, the management team decided to streamline their choices in two types of meat served and four kinds of soups to choose from. They wish to be able to serve their famous ramen faster and more efficient, hence, reduced waiting time. And one big positive note is that the price has been adjusted LOWER despite all the increases in their costs. Well done! 🙂
So, my mother in-law invited us for an early morning dim sum together with my father in-law. Dim sum is one of Chinese’s favorite breakfast. Kaya will call is as a premium breakfast since many of the dim sum restaurants have raised its prices since the prices of petrol, sugar and recently the purported water rate hike and God knows what else more. Some dim sum restaurant maintained the quality of their offerings but some reduced their quality despite the price increase. We chose Dian Xin Zhi Jia because of its affordable prices. Taste wise? This is one of the latest addition to the restaurants and food franchises that are available in Penang’s largest shopping mall, Queensbay Mall (QBM). It is not very new since The Little Nyonya Cuisine (TLNC) 小娘惹 has been around in Penang for many months already but new in the sense that TLNC 小娘惹 is a rather new face in QBM food scene.
It is a really sunny and warm Sunday. Kaya & Butter, both decides to hang out at Gurney Paragon. We had a light breakfast earlier this morning before going to church. Therefore, we are basically quite hungry when we reach Gurney Paragon in the afternoon. There are plenty of people at the mall today, maybe due to the warm weather outside. We are craving for Japanese food recently, so we agree to have a Japanese cuisine marathon this afternoon, by visiting Rakuzen, Sushi Zanmai and Pasta Zanmai.
KayaButter believe that many are wondering where is this mural painting of YAB Lim Guan Eng eating Hokkien Mee, after seeing them in Instagrams or Facebook. After some searching and asking around, KayaButter finally found the place. This is not the same as the one in Penang 3D Museum called Made in Penang. That one is YAB Lim Guan Eng having coffee and wearing white shirt. Let KayaButter show you where. 🙂
