G Hotel Kelawai 2PM & Bloggers Mini Contest
It has been a while that KayaButterToast are in action doing reviews and so on. So, it really took a while for KayaButter to churn out reviews after attending one. Many apologies on the delay, G Hotel Kelawai lovely ladies & handsome guys.
We have been invited by G Hotel Kelawai to review their 2PM bar. It is a review with a twist, thanks to the creative minds of the marcomm team at G Hotel. The bloggers will be pitted against each other to create canapes.
Kaya & Butter always loved the design and the concept of G Hotels. Futuristic, contemporary and clean designs. The 2PM uses a lot of woods and black colors to create aesthetic visuals and the ‘cool’ effects.
Bloggers are required to register themselves in the guest book once we have arrived.
Drinks anyone? Each bloggers gets to order one drink from their menu. Too bad that KayaButter forgot to take a photo of their drinks menu. Blogging skills getting rusty after so long. Many apologies, our readers.
After all the bloggers have arrived, our review started with the briefing of the rules & conditions by Christina. After that, it is followed by introduction of their new chef, Mr Jack. He is a very good looking young chef. He demonstrated to us on how to create the canapes.Chef Jack created 3 types of French-styled canapes namely, cheese cracker topped with brie and onion jam, mini fruit tart with vanilla cream cheese and caprese skewers with feta with balsamic vinegar. Chef Jack managed to do it so seamlessly and smoothly.
All bloggers and their partners listened to Chef Jack attentively as he explained the process in detail.
Butter is taking the video of the explanation in case she missed out his explanation. What a good student! Haha 🙂
We were being given 45 minutes to create our own canapes masterpiece. It sounded quite a lot of time at first. In the end, many of us have to rush our creation until the last minute. Kaya is in-charge to assist Butter to create the canapes.

Christina Tan, the ever energetic and bubbly Director of Communications of G Hotel, is carefully checking out the canapes that the bloggers have done. Their masterpieces are being judged for its taste, presentation, cleanliness and most importantly their creativity.
After 45 minutes, our masterpieces were being inspected and tasted by the examiners from G Hotel Kelawai. After the tasting session, we were being served the bites from 2PM.

All the bites that they served us are decent and tasty. Each of us might have our own preferences, the dishes are good for finger foods and snacks while enjoying your favorite drinks in G Hotel Kelawai 2PM lounge. Given a choice, Togarishi Rings stands out with its crispy and Q-ness together with its wasabi mayo. The wasabi mayo is the killer that makes the squid rings taste so well. Do order that if you have the same preferences as KayaButter. We loved their pizzas as well. The size of the pizza is hand-friendly meaning it is easy for us to hold the pizza with just one hand and eat it without causing a mess.
After we have done with our food tasting, we gather around to hear the announcement of the winners. All of us are rather nervous and anxious. Guess what, Butter’s masterpiece has managed to win us the 3rd prize. We are awarded RM30 cash voucher to spend at 2PM. The 1st prize winner gets RM100 cash voucher and 2nd prize winner gets RM50 cash voucher.
All in all, KayaButter enjoyed our review session that is filled with fun, good camaraderie, and kan-cheongness (it means nervous for those who don’t understand Hokkien). Thank you again to the G Hotel Kelawai team for inviting us for this review and did their very best to give our food review a good twist from the usual hi-food tasting-haha-and-bye-bye food review.
