The Launching of Orient Fitness Gold @ Gurney Paragon Mall, Gurney Drive, Penang

Founded in 2011, Orient Fitness continues to open new branches to serve the needs of the fitness market in Penang with the latest one on level 6 of Gurney Paragon Mall. With the vision of ‘To be the leading fitness service provider in the fitness industry’, Orient Fitness has become the biggest and the best chain of fitness club in the Northern region with its 4 clubs strategically situated from North to South of Penang island. 6th of June 2015 is the grand opening for Orient Fitness Gold at Gurney Paragon Mall with many VIPs, medias, distinguished guests and public attending.

With 23,000 square feet, Orient Fitness Gold is fitted with many different kinds of facilities that are not found in other clubs such as sauna and steam rooms, rock climbing exercise facility (one of a kind facility in the Northern region), hot yoga studio, spinning studio, member’s lounge with stunning day and night view and so on.

It is customary for Chinese business owners to have lion dance during their grand opening to bring in more ‘ONG’ (A Hokkien word that means prosperity) to the business.

The grand opening started with the welcoming speech by Dato Yew Tian Teik who thanked many of his partners and suppliers in making Orient Fitness Gold a success.

Next is the opening speech by EXCO for Penang State Tourism Development YB Danny Law who stresses on the importance of healthy living and exercise.

After that, the VIPs of the day are invited to officiate the grand opening of Orient Fitness Gold by ribbon cutting.

The gym is definitely very spacious with the treadmills and various exercise equipments on your left as you enter the gym from the main door and the rock climbing facility on your right. The gym is 2-storey high with a mezzanie floor for group exercise studio, hot yoga flow studio and RPM studio. The 2nd floor is where the changing rooms, lockers, sauna and steam rooms are located for both females and males.

If you walk deeper into the gym, you will find the place where instructors will teach you martial arts such as muay thai, wing chun, boxing and others.

This is the main attraction of Orient Fitness Gold, the rock climbing facility.

The VIPs are trying out the rock climbing facility with YB Danny being courageous to climb up so high! Well done, YB Danny for taking the lead and walk the talk for being fit and healthy. Same goes to the other VIPS as well who tried to climb the wall many times. 🙂

KayaButter are definitely impressed with Dato’ Seri Khor Teng Tong who is very fit and eager to test out all the facilities including this wing chun training stand, despite his age. KayaButter definitely wish to be like him when we grow old. 🙂

She is also definitely not Mr Aaron Royston Soyza, the squash team coach. Haha. She is the representative actually. 🙂

That wraps up the grand opening of Orient Fitness. Butter hopes that she will be able to tone her body up one day but definitely not as muscular as above! That’s too much muscle. Hehe!
