Grand Opening of Urban Republic Flagship Outlet @ Queensbay Mall, Bayan Lepas, Penang
On the 1st of August 2015, Urban Republic’s second outlet has just opened in Queensbay Mall. In case for those of you who don’t know, Urban Republic is owned by CG Computers Sdn Bhd which is also the owner of the 1st ever Apple Premium Service Provider in Malaysia and also the largest Apple Premium Reseller in the northern Peninsular Malaysia. With the opening of Urban Republic, KayaButter feel that CG Computers are enjoying the best of both worlds which are iOS and Android. A very wise move, indeed! Urban Republic is definitely the place to go for the urbanites. You can find a wide range of smartphones and wearables including Apple, XiaoMi, Lenovo, Huawei, Oppo, Asus, Mio and Wellograph.
They also have accessories to keep your devices protected from the elements such as OtterBox, Thule and LifeProof.
Not to miss out are the audiophiles with great brands such as Beats, Bose, Monsters, Sonos and Klipsch. For the outdoor enthusiasts, Urban Republic has you covered with a wide selection of mountain bikes, road bikes and folding bikes from brands such as Ubike, RockShox and BMC. They even have Thule sporty baby strollers for urban parents who wish to bring their children together in the outdoor adventure.
They also sell bags from brands such as Booq and H.A.N.D. that are versatile and complements the hectic and active lifestyle of urbanites. Understanding the needs of the urbanites, the bags sold will carry at least one compartment for their mobile phone. Urban Republic is like the one stop centre for all your urban needs with a touch of class and nature.

When KayaButter first got near to the Urban Republic in Queensbay Mall, we thought that we had gone to the wrong outlet for their grand opening as we saw so many bouquets of flowers adoring the sides of the outlet. Haha! They have a long list of programmes organised for their grand opening.
The grand opening kicked off with Mr Li Chau Ging, Managing Director of CG Computers Sdn Bhd and Mr Winson Wong, General Manager of CG Computers Sdn Bhd officiating the flagship outlet.
Followed by the performance by Hands, a renowned Malaysian percussion ensemble in Kuala Lumpur since 1997.
Kaya who just finished his tour guiding assignment, posing with Ernest. Can we call him Datuk Kaya? Haha
Next is the highlight of the programmes which is the coffee session with signings by Ernest Ng, a famous cartoonist, blogger and YouTuber. He is famous for his Bro Comics series and also his blog, www.donbelikethatbro.blogspot.com. He has a YouTube channel as well, ‘dontlikethatbro’.
After that, there is a showcase of Coolpeds, the ultra compact electric scooter, created in USA.
This is something that KayaButter wish to have one but our bank account does not allow. Haha. There are only 200 units of BMC Alpenchalenge AC01 Lamborghini Edition and we are so lucky to get to see one here in Penang, Malaysia! How awesome it is! This bike is created with the collaboration between Lamborghini and BMC.
After that, we have a performance by a group of pianist using ONE Piano. Next, customers are invited to play with the ONE Piano whereby they are tested on their accuracy in playing a song.
After that, crowds are entertained by the dance performance by the Oppo mascot and his dance team. Their moves are groovy.
Last but not least, customers and passer-bys are given free ice creams. The 1st 30 customers in line are given a Urban Republic goodies bag and the goodies bag contains awesome stuffs. Customers who purchased anything from Urban Republic are entitled for a spin to win some prizes from Spin The Wheel game.
The desserts and finger food are awesome! We can’t stop eating them.
The coffee is great as well.
