[Part 2] Noor & Dean’s Cafe Espresso Bar & Asian Fusion & Noordin Street House @ Noordin Street, Georgetown, Penang!

*This is a continuation of the Part 1 of Noor & Dean’s Cafe & Noordin Street House review. If you missed the Part 1, click here*

After a hearty meal, we are given a tour around Noordin Street House which is housed on the 2nd floor of this heritage building. There are 5 luxurious suites that has the 1950s look but complete with the modern amenities such as air-cond, LED TV, WiFi, coffee makers and so on. The one at the loft is called as Silk Suite is suitable for family that can accommodate up to 6 persons. There is plan to add 3 more suites at the ground floor and an indoor swimming pool below the rooftop garden. We do not get to view the rooms as they are fully occupied. 🙁

We are very amazed with the rooftop garden. A very well done landscape with lots of greenery. You will get to see KOMTAR and also 1st Avenue from their rooftop garden.

They provide very good sofas and seats for guests to chill. Kaya was wondering how will this place look like when it is at night. Definitely a very great place to chill.

The interior of one of the suites

Noordin Street House is definitely giving tourists and backpackers a different kind of accommodation. A very retro style accommodation with quality and modern facilities. The architect really put in his effort to make every corner reflect their theme but maintaining the quality of their offerings. Unlike some other guesthouses, they have the theme but lack the substance, hence, giving a gimmicky feeling of their selected theme. Noordin Street House strategic location is also their advantage whereby you can go to the nearest shopping malls or go to the Georgetown places of attractions.

After the tour, we are being treated desserts and coffees to end our food review session.

Raita RM5.00

This is an Indian style salad with yoghurt. It comes with cucumber and onions mixed with dahi (sour milk) and served cold. Definitely something new for Kaya and an interesting experience as Kaya seldom takes Indian desserts.

Banana Fritters With Vanilla Ice Cream RM8.00

This is my first seeing such a fusion food. Banana fritter is one of our local favorite snack. It is very crunchy and sweet in taste. However, the combination of this dessert is rather weird. The batter coating is too thick to my liking and banana fritters cannot mix with vanilla ice cream. You just have to enjoy each of the items by itself.

Sago Gula Melaka RM6.00

This is one of Kaya’s favorite desserts. It is cooling dessert and best eaten together with gula melaka (palm sugar) and coconut milk. It is very Q and nice to chew.

Sizzling Almond Cakes RM12.00

Mezzo Mezzo RM9.00 (Hot) RM11 (Cold)

Mezzo Mezzo which is an Italian phrase that means half half literally. This drink 50% chocolate and 50% espresso.

Iced Vienna Coffee RM14.00

A blended double shots of espresso in crushed iced topped with whipped cream. This is one of my favorite. Strong coffee flavor. 🙂 Chewing the coffee beans enhance the flavor.

Caffè Macchiato RM8.00

It is a type of coffee that is made of espresso and milk foam. Loved the 3 layers look of this coffee. 🙂

Overall, Noor & Dean Cafe offers a wide range of Asian food, cleverly done fusion foods and very decent food and a great ambiance to enjoy those good food. Together with their professional and friendly, the higher price that they command for some of our local food is deemed justified. Kaya will definitely come back to bring Butter to try their Shish Kebab and Pasta. 🙂
