As the craze for fish based steamboats slowly subsides, another new trend is on the rise. Hou Mei Wo Steamboat that originates from Ipoh, introduces Pork Bone Steamboat! They started with the 1st branch at Elit Avenue, Bayan Lepas and now they are opening their 2nd branch at town area which is at Lorong Selamat. They are somewhere near to the end of Lorong Selamat, opposite the low cost flats and on your left side.

KayaButter believe that many Penangnites have already known about this burger van. We heard that the Chinese uncle has been selling burger at the same exact spot for around 20 years++. He is famously known as the Uncle Burger, the Chinese Uncle Burger, the Hillside Burger, The Many Onion Burger and so on. KayaButter found out his name at his van and he is actually Mr Wong. 🙂

A new restaurant has taken over the shophouse that previously houses Money Houz which KayaButter blogged about last time. Two of the owners of Money Houz remained and they reopened the restaurant as Asam Belai. You will find some of the previous design and decoration in the shophouse. The most prominent change will be the signboard which says ‘Asam Belai, seafood in the pot’ for now. This is their 2nd branch as the main branch is somewhere in Jelutong market area

Run by 3 brothers and 1 sisters, the COC Spoof burger stall just operated starting in June 2015. They are full of entrepreneurial spirit and creative to use COC as their theme. KayaButter hope that Supercell will be happy that there is a stall in Penang using COC theme and don’t take any legal rights action. 😛 The way the team pair and name the burgers are very matching and KayaButter love it very much!
