From 20th July 2012 to 18th August 2012, all Muslims around the world will be fasting. In this Ramadan month, they will fast from dawn to sunset to purify their souls, strengthen their spiritual and moral values and also understand the underprivileged people’s plights.

Many of our Muslim friends sometimes go to hotels to break fast or in Malay, ‘buka puasa’ to reward themselves after fasting for the whole day. If you are one of them, do pay visit Star Dinerz at Hard Rock Hotel Penang to enjoy their Buka Puasa Sets. It’s definitely worth your $$$. There are two kind of Buka Puasa Sets available, depending on a certain period of days. Here are the details:

The whole platter set was awesome. The highlight of the platter set was the mini burger. It looked so cute but it tasted great. The cheese was rich and the beef patty was tender enough and the combination was heavenly. A must try.

The grilled mini shrimp quesadillas was rich in cheese flavor and Kaya and Buter loved it a lot. Must try.

The butter rice is damn nice. The aroma and the richness of the butter in the rice are so good. Remember to eat the rice while it’s hot to get that taste.

A variety of traditional Malay ‘kuih’.

Pengat Pisang, a type of Malay dessert cooked with sliced banana, coconut milk and sago. One of the highlight of the Buka Puasa buffet. Very thick and rich in flavor.

Chocolate Cake. Very rich in chocolate flavor but a bit dry inside.

Overall, Hard Rock Hotel Penang definitely lives up to its name. The quality of each dish that they present it up to par and some even exceed our expectation. Definitely a place that I will come back again. Another good thing after dining at Hard Rock Hotel Penang, you can always enjoy their poolside and also stroll the beach. So relaxing and nice.
