With successful restaurants such as Kampachi & The View on its belt, Equatorial Hotel is looking to re-energise and take the F&B scene a notch higher with the introduction of their latest RM6 million refurbished restaurant called Nada Lama, a Malay phrase which translates to ‘Yesterday’s Melody’. Nada Lama sits at the exact same location of their previous restaurant, Coffee Garden, which is at Lower Ground Floor.

First impression of the hotel restaurant is ‘WOW!’. Who doesn’t like new things right? Butter is very impressed with the upgrading and renovation work. Besides being spanking new, the restaurant looks stylish, elegant and contemporary with its Colonial & Peranakan influenced design.  They have semi private rooms for those who seek privacy or are organising any private functions.

Butter was invited to taste their weekend buffet which is called as Weekend Surf & Turf BBQ Buffet Dinner. The buffet is available on Fridays and Saturdays and the management reserves the right to change the buffet theme accordingly. Do call the restaurant to check about the buffet theme in advanced to avoid disappointment.

Over 100 items for you to choose from which are separated into Salad Bar, Chilled Seafood on Ice, Cold Selection, Soup Kettle, Hot Selection, Carving Highlight, Barbeque Live Station and Sweet Indulgence. Let’s check out Butter’s favourite items from the buffet and some of the dishes that stood out.

Barbeque Live Station

This is one of the main highlights of the buffet dinner and also the most queued station. You will be spoilt for choices with the wide range of BBQ stuffs such as Butter’s all-time favourite, chicken satays, beef satays, sirloin steak, lamb chops, sausage, whole baby fish, pari fish sambal, cuttle fish, crayfish and most liked prawn skewers. Remember to dip your favourite BBQ food with their many types of condiments such as fried shallots, chilli padi (bird’s eye chilli), BBQ sauce and so on for the extra ‘kick’. 🙂

Chilled Seafood on Ice – Japanese Sashimi with condiments, Snow Crabs, Crayfish, Fresh Oysters, Slippery Lobsters & Live Tiger Prawns

 The most attractive food to Butter is the dessert. The minute Butter enters Nada Lama, those beautifully decorated desserts caught Butter’s eyes. They are so tempting and you just can’t resist it. Basically, those desserts taste a little sweeter, people who have sweet tooth like Butter, will absolutely loves it.

Bread and Butter Pudding

This dessert comes with vanilla syrup. It is heavenly yummy!

Blueberry Mousse

This is one of Butter’s favourite dish at Nada lama. The mousse is thick and delicious. Those pretty little colourful flowers are actually edible. Love it!

You can actually purchase the cakes and pastries you love at the counter near the entrance.

Assorted Flavours of New Zealand Ice Cream

This is the best part of the buffet for Butter. Butter is so impressed that the hotel is actually serving New Zealand ice-cream. The queue of it is the longest among all food. Butter waits for so long until the crowd dismisses. Butter then realises that the chocolate ice-cream is finished. The observing chef quickly refills it without any hesitation. Butter enjoys the ice-cream as happy as a kid.
