By now, KayaButter believe that many people have already known Tree Bar by G Hotel, the current most ‘in’ hangout place for people to unwind after a hard day’s work. KayaButter have always adored and loved the G brand. The G Hotel is super chic and contemporary. How we wish we can get to do a #staycation at G Hotel. 🙂 We love their buffet also (Check it out here and here also) The G brand does not disappoint with their Tree Bar also and offers the best drinks and bites in Penang.

With successful restaurants such as Kampachi & The View on its belt, Equatorial Hotel is looking to re-energise and take the F&B scene a notch higher with the introduction of their latest RM6 million refurbished restaurant called Nada Lama, a Malay phrase which translates to ‘Yesterday’s Melody’. Nada Lama sits at the exact same location of their previous restaurant, Coffee Garden.
Remember when KayaButter were invited to DoubleTree by Hilton Johor Bahru for their social media challenge called ‘Who Stole the Cookie From the Cookie Jar’, we get to sample their famous Makan Kitchen, an eclectic mix of local cuisines, mainly Chinese, Malay and Indian varieties. The first impression that we have for Makan Kitchen is that it is a very grand and spacious restaurant.
Recently, there’s cookie missing from the cookie jar of DoubleTree by Hilton Johor Bahru. KayaButter are tasked to find out who is the culprit together with our other teammates. So happy to be able to play Sherlock Holmes this time. Both KayaButter are big fans of Sherlock Holmes and James Watson. KayaButter endured 9 hours of back-breaking and ass-numbing bus ride down to DoubleTree by Hilton in Johor Bahru to participate in its ‘Who Stole the Cookie from the Cookie Jar Challenge’.
That’s the tagline of Hard Rock Hotel Penang’s Rock Spa. A place to unwind. A place to release all your stresses be it body, spiritual or emotional. A place to loosen your aches and tensions. A place to escape from the hustle and bustle of the city and reconnect with nature and yourself. A place to become yourself again and indulge in luxuries. Yes, a place to retune yourself.
31st August is a date that means a lot to Malaysians. Well, to all Malaysians and those who work in Malaysia, it is a public holiday. It is also to recognize and mark the day that Peninsular Malaysia is free from the colonial rule. 31st August 1957 to be exact. So for this nationalistic month, Eastin Hotel Penang is proud to introduce their August’s buffet theme which is, of course, called as Magnificent Malaysia where many Malaysia’s multi-cultural dishes will be found. You can find cuisines of Malay, Chinese, Indian and Eurasian specialties.
Time for some desserts! We visit Ipoh’s famous soya bean milk and soya beancurd or what the locals call it as tau fu fah (in Cantonese) 🙂 This family-run business has been on-going for the past 60 years++. They definitely did something right with their soya bean milk and soya beancurd to last for so long.
When you think of dim sum whenever you are going to Kuala Lumpur or down south, the first that crosses your mind will be Foh San Dim Sum. Same thing happens when you tell your friends that you are going down to Kuala Lumpur or down south, I bet that many will tell you to stop by Foh Sam for breakfast. That’s how famous this dim sum restaurant is.
Looking for a place to berbuka puasa? Give yourself and your family members a rocking buka puasa experience at Starz Diner, Hard Rock Hotel Penang!
During the same day of review, Eastin Hotel Penang simultaneously introduced their July Buffet Theme which is Peranakan Cuisine for lunch (for non-Muslim) and dinner (after fasting month which is 28th-31st July 2014). Butter is very full after eating so many delicious dishes from the Ramadan Buffet Dinner. So, Butter will just introduce you some of the highlights of their Peranakan Cuisines. These dishes will definitely spark much nostalgia especially Baba & Nyonya ethnic people. Butter knows that Kaya will definitely miss the ‘lor bak’ 🙂
